General Description

History | Ordu University, Faculty of Health Science was established as an "Faculty of Health Sciences" in accordance with the "Decision on the Establishment, Closure and Change of Names of Faculties, Institutes and Colleges Depending on Some Higher Education Institutions" published in the Official Gazette dated 08.04.2016, 19678. Health Management was opened with the decision of YÖK First students have started education in 2019-2020 academic year. | Qualification Awarded | This department is subject to 240 ECTS credits first stage degree system in the field of Health Management science in higher education.

Programme accepts students that have type of TM point | Specific Arrangements For Recognition Of Prior Learning (Formal, Non-Formal and Informal) | Transitions between internal and external programs will be executed according to the legislation provisions. | Qualification Requirements and Regulations | In order to graduate from this program as a health manager, at least 240 ECTS credits must be earned. | Profile of The Programme | Department of Health Care Management aims to educate highly qualified health management professionals for the health sector with both undergraduate and postgraduate education programmes. The graduates are expected to have developed a professional identity and personality by all means. They are also expected to be the ones who have self-confidence , knows the World and his/her country well, adopt contemporary and universal values, are curious and willing to learn for more; have the knowledge, ability and the ideal to administer health care institutions, use foreign languages very well; have the spirit of entrepreneurship directed to production; have developed communication and leadership skills necessary for his/her profession | Occupational Profiles of Graduates With Examples | Graduates of this department take charge in public (Ministry of Health, Universities, Armed Forces Affiliated Hospitals) or private sector (private hospitals, pharmaceutical and medical device companies, insurance companies and other private health institutions). They can take charge in department of account and finance, human resources department, marketing department and patient relations department of healthcare institutions. They also have chance to be employed as a supervisor or specialist at several public institutions notably Ministry of Health and Social Security İnstitution. | Access to Further Studies | Applicants who successfully complete their undergraduate education can study in postgraduate programs provided that they get a valid grade from ALES exam and pass the graduate entrance exam. | Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading | A variety of assessment methods such as mid-term(s), assignment(s), exercise(s), project(s), practice(s), and a final exam are implemented in the program. 1 | The person who graduated from the Health Management undergraduate program has theoretical and practical knowledge related to economics, business administration, accounting, law, finance, finance and management science, sufficient to comprehend, evaluate and guide the functioning of the health system. Gains knowledge of interpreting the components of national and international health systems and health policies. Recognizes the subdivisions of the health system organization and the employees in these departments, and gets information about the duties and responsibilities of the employees. Gains knowledge of social, environmental and behavioral factors related to the development of community and individual health. | 2 | The person who graduated from the Health Management undergraduate program has the knowledge and skills regarding the management of health institutions, management, production, human resources, finance, accounting, marketing, patient and public relations, quality and patient safety, occupational health and safety, information technologies, health insurance, etc. . applies in the fields. Uses scientific methods and techniques in critical and creative thinking, decision making and problem solving in the problems arising in the management of health institutions. Analyzes, evaluates and interprets the data related to the field. | 3 | The person who graduated from the Health Management undergraduate program examines and evaluates developments related to the management of health institutions using scientific methods and techniques in many ways, takes responsibility individually and as a team member to solve the problems encountered in health institutions management practices, evaluates the personality, culture and behavioral characteristics of the employees working in health institutions and directs them for the purposes of the institution. | 4 | The person who graduated from the Health Management undergraduate program can decide and implement ways of accessing information.
