Ordu University recognizes courses taken at another institution based on the principle of lifelong learning and exempts them from their graduation credit if their learning outcomes match those of the program at Ordu University. Profile of The Programme |
Fashion Design Program aims to train designers,designer asistants,stylistsand pattern makers who can provide for all needs of the textileand fashion industry such as production, organization and design soon. Also program aims alumnies to be able to interpret and evaluate using theoretical and practical knowledge gained in the field, to identify and analyze problems, and to develop proposals for solution based on evidence. |
Occupational Profiles of Graduates With Examples |
Students who graduate from this department get the title of FASHION DESIGN TECHNICIAN. Alumnies can work as designer assistant and pattern maker in haute couture fashion houses, pret a porte design studios and ready-to-wear industry companies and consulting firms.

Access to Further Studies |
Students who successfully complete this program are admitted to the upper level on the basis of the scores they receive in the related areas in the Vertical Transfer Examination (DGS) Entrance Exam made by the Student Selection and Placement Center (ÖSYM). In addition, the students who are eligible to receive the Associate's Degree have the right to enroll in Undergraduate Programs at Anadolu University Open Education Faculty from the third semester onwards. The undergraduate programs that can be preferred according to the results of the Vertical Transfer Exam (DGS) Entrance Examination are; Fashion and Clothing Design, Fashion Design, Fashion and Textile Design. |
Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading |
Examination, assessment and grading procedure is mainly based on Ordu University Education and Training Regulations for Associate and Undergraduate Degrees Depending on the nature of the course various instruments such as midterms, final exams, short exams, presentations, assignments, projects and applications may be involved in the assessment process of a semester on condition that students are informed about their weights upon registry. Contribution of these activities to final grading range between 40% -60% and So as to be eligible to take the final exam, a student has to fulfill the attendance requirement of 70% for courses. Once this requirement is fulfilled, attendance is not required again in case of a failure and retaking that course. Final grading of a course is determined on the basis of semester studies and final exam. Those with certified and officially approved excuses are also given a makeup exam. |

Facilities |
The total area reserved for the program is 500m2. The area allocated for the current classroom is 50 m2 each, and it has the necessary equipment for education and training. Machines and equipment to be used in the computer lab are provided. The space reserved for each of the pattern making atelier and practice classes required for the program is 70 m2. There is one practice atelier belonging to Fashion Design Program. Lockstitch machine , overlock, hemming machine , buttonhole and button machine , embroidery and ironing machines exist in the atelier. The space reserved for the study rooms of each lecturer is 20 m2. Garment industry is available in our area at a sufficient number of business where students can do their vocational training. |
