General Description
History
The school is located in the area Akkuş City Center, 2500 m2, and in a 4- storey building of a 1500 m2 closed space. In the educational space the classrooms and 1–weell-equipped COMPUTER CLASSES with 40 computers and a dining room are also present.The programme of Hunting and Wild Life Information Management began training with 40 students registered by ÖSYM in the EDUCATION period of 2014-2015.
Qualification Awarded
This program is subject to short cycle degree system with 120 ECTS credits in Forestry scope of higher education. The students who successfully complete this program will graduate with a degree of competence of Hunting and Wildlife Program.

Specific Admission Requirements
To start this program, prospective students must have a high school diploma and must have enough points in the University Student Selection Examination (OSS). The students who deserved being placed at Hunting and Wildlife Program within the Department of Forestry in Akkuş Vocational School of Ordu University in the centralized exams conducted by the Student Selection and Placement Center (OSYM) in Higer Education Council (YOK) have to make final registration with required documents within the period determined by the Rector. Applications of students who fail to register within the period specified by the Rector will not be considered. University identity cards are given to final registered students.

The provisions in “Regulation on Transfer among Associate and Undergraduate Degree Programs, Double Major, and Subspecialty and the Principals of Credit Transfer among Institutions in Higher Education Institutions” are applied.

Qualification Requirements and Regulations
In order to graduate of Hunting and Wildlife Program, the students must be successful with a total of 120 ECTS course from the compulsory and elective courses and overall weighted grade point average must be at least 2.00 out of 4.00. The student should have served a compulsory internship.
Profile of The Programme
The purpose of this program is to train technical personal that acquired basic knowledge of wildlife science and applications, acts in the field of legislation, taking responsibility for solving problems as a team member, equipped with technical matters, knowledge and skills at the ecological, economic and social protection of forest resources and in the sustainable management of forest resources.
Occupational Profiles of Graduates With Examples
Graduates of this program are working as Forestry Conservation Officer the relevant General Directorates of the Ministry of Forestry and Water Affairs. In addition, they are work as a Hunting and Wildlife Technician in protected areas, zoos, and private hunting grounds.

Akkuş Vocational High School was founded at Akkuş County which is located at a distance of 120 km at south-west of Ordu City, in 2013. Akkuş Vocational Higer Schools continues education activities at 3-storey building with 2500 m2 closed area. There are seven permanent Lecturers, 4 classrooms (each one a capacity of 40 students), 1 computer labs, and an application lab.
Graduation Requirements
The students who are successful in the vertical transfer examination(DGS) conducted by ÖSYM after short cycle graduation can become undergraduate students at the department of Forest Engineering and Wildlife Ecology and Managament in the Faculty of Forestry.
