The process of recognition of prior learning at Turkish Higher Education Councils is at an early stage. For this reason, recognition of prior education in all programs of the University of Ordu has not been fully started. |
Qualification Requirements and Regulations |
In order to obtain Ph.D. degree in the field of Horticulture, 1. Having a minimum of 28 credits in a CC or higher grade, 2. Having a seminar course and successfully presenting it, 3. Preparing a doctoral thesis and successfully defending it in front of the jury. |

There are 13 lecturers, 5 professors, 1 associate professor, 4 assistant professors and 3 research assistants in the Department of Garden Bitkileri Anabilim Dalı. |
Occupational Profiles of Graduates With Examples |
Graduate Students can work primarily in the Provincial and District Directorates of the Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Livestock and Agricultural Research Institutes. They can also work in various units of universities and municipalities in institutions affiliated to the Ministry of Public Works and Settlement, Culture and Tourism, Environment and Forestry. In addition, they can take active roles as planning and enforcer in public and private institutions and non-governmental organizations related to nature conservation and environmental management. They can also work in national and international companies operating in the field of agricultural struggle with the reclamation, production and seeding of garden plants for private study areas. |

Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading |
Students are required to take at least one midterm and one final exam from all courses. The contribution of the midterm exam is 40% and the contribution of the final exam is 60%. All exams are evaluated over 100 points. There is a requirement to take at least 50 points from the final exam. Students who take one of the letter grades AA, BA, BB, CB and CC are deemed to have completed that course. |
Graduation Requirements |
"Ordu University Graduate Education-Examination and Examination Regulations", which was published in the Official Newsapaper dated 23.09.2011 and numbered 28063, has been put into effect for the graduation requirements of the Department of Horticulture Ph.D. |

Research possibilities: There are pomology laboratory, biotechnology laboratory, tissue culture laboratory and post-harvest laboratory and classrooms where undergraduate and graduate courses are taught. Our department also has 2 plastic greenhouses and research and application areas where different fruit types suitable for the region are found. |
