Profile of The Programme
To provide the basic knowledge and equipment necessary to examine Social Structure, Institutions, processes and social action from a sociological perspective, To provide the ability to conduct research using sociological methods and techniques, To provide the ability to think analytically and critically in the light of sociological institutions and approaches, To provide information about social problems in the world and in the country To raise awareness and provide the ability to produce solutions to these problems, to provide the ability to look across disciplines, to provide the equipment to make predictions regarding social processes and developments.

Access to Further Studies
Graduates of the program can move to the next level by presenting their success degrees in the sociology master's program they have taken in order to receive a doctorate degree.
Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading
Assessment and evaluation within the scope of the program are carried out through written exams, oral presentations and assignments. The program aims to train expert sociologists with both written and verbal skills through this assessment and evaluation channel.
Graduation Requirements
In order to graduate from the Sociology Department master's program, it is expected that the graduate students enrolled in the program must first complete the elective and compulsory courses determined during the course phase, and then complete the thesis process after a thesis proposal related to the relevant field.

Key Learning Outcomes
1To gain certain theoretical and methodological knowledge in his/her fields of interests to guide his/her academical progress.
2To have advanced knowledge of the theoretical and methodological foundations of sociology, and to be able to explain the social world using classical, modern and/or postmodern theories.
3To have knowledge about the epistemological origins of scientific research method and techniques in order to be able to design the process of gaining scientific knowledge and to use the relevant techniques.
4To have a good grasp of multidisciplinary approach, thereby being able to establish interdisciplinary relations, and using it in relation with other social disciplines like history, philosophy, anthropology, psychology, economy, and political science.
5To be able to use sociological knowledge in daily life; to be able to have a critical, participatory and democratic attitude and stance towards social problems.
6To be able to produce scientific knowledge using different sources of data; to be able to share the resulting knowledge through text and speech.
