General Description

History | Ulubey Vocational School, 2547 numbered Higher Education Law numbered 2880 was opened in accordance with the law no:7/d-2. Ulubey Vocational School of Ordu University academic and administrative building with the 2010-2011 academic year students began complete the work.
Ulubey Vocational School of Agricultural and Animal Production Department, Apiculture Program and the Food Processing Division Food Technology Program began with the 2010-2011 Academic-Education and the students were admitted to these programs. Department of Accounting and Tax, Accounting and Tax Education Program as of 2011-2012 was opened and began accepting students. Newly opened in 2012-2013 for Laboratory and Veterinary Health Program; general laboratory and veterinary courses, animal breeding techniques and diseases, biology and genetics of animals, ecology of animals, anatomy and physiology of farm animals, animal behavior are lessons to be.

| Specific Arrangements For Recognition Of Prior Learning (Formal, Non-Formal and Informal) | The recognition of previous studies is still at the starting point in Turkish Higher Education Institutions. That is why; the recognition of previous studies has not been started precisely in all the fields of Ordu university. However, exemption exam is organised at the start of fall semester for English course which is compulsory in the curriculum of departments. The students who have completed the learning process for these courses on his/her own or through other means, and believe that they have achieved the learning outcomes specified are given the right to take the exemption exam. The students who achieve a passing grade from these exams are held exempt from the related course in the curriculum. | Qualification Requirements and Regulations | In order to obtain pre-graduate degree in the department of Veterinary (Laboratory and Veterinary Health Technician to win the title) students are required to;
1. Pass all courses with a grade of at least DC
2. Maintain a minimum CPGA of 2.00/4.00
3. 30-day period of compulsory internship to be completed and reports prepared for this internship is available to take notes.
| Profile of The Programme | Organisms that causing negativity on living species; deterioration of the balance of the natural environment, changing on natural flavors of foods, the use of pesticides and agricultural chemicals used with synthetic materials cause the negative problems on animals and most on people. This is all kinds of animals on the demand for improving and increasing demand for technical staff to work on because of shortcomings in this field in order to close the officials with needed Laboratory and Veterinary Health Technician. In addition, livestock producers troubleshoot, manufacturers of animal health and raise awareness about animal welfare, quality products to achieve and improve and to meet the needs of animals in this parallel, a number of basic and applied research of Laboratory and Veterinary Health and the technical staff needed to work on these issues. | Occupational Profiles of Graduates With Examples | Section graduates in working life as having disposed of the two professions. Laboratory department can work with the title of a normal laboratory technician in hospitals and private laboratories. Veterinary department can work at the Food, Agriculture and Animal Husbandry under the Ministry of branch offices by the animal health, cattle and sheep farms, animal hospitals, petshops, Pharmaceutical factories and companies, the municipal slaughterhouse, in private clinics, and research stations have opportunities to work as assistant. At the same time students of the program showing the regions business units operating in accordance with the requirements of agricultural production in the arms of their own, or may be found in agricultural activities. In addition, graduates from laboratory and veterinary health, qualified technicians in the private sector is becoming increasingly popular. | Access to Further Studies | If you have a permanent establishment if the working people who have completed pre-graduate program in workplace could rise up to management positions based on their performance. With switch exams, they can transfer to Faculties of Veterinary Medicine with a five-year education. | Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading | Students are subjected to one midterm exam and one final exam at each semester from all the courses except the graduation project. The percentage weights of midterm and final exam grades to course success are 40% and 60%, respectively. All exams are evaluated over 100 points. It is obligatory to get at least 50 points from midterm/ final exams. Grading system uses grades based on 0-4 scale. Students getting one of the letter grades of AA, BA, BB, CB and CC are considered to have successfully completed the course.
