Objectives of the Course
To provide the basic knowledge about the diversification of phytoplankton, general features, construction and composition of freshwater phytoplankton. To provide the basic knowledge about entrainment and distribution in the pelagic, photosynthesis and carbon acquisition, nutrient uptake and assimilation in phytoplankton. To provide the basic knowledge about growth and replication, mortality and loss processes in phytoplankton. To provide the basic knowledge about community assembly in the plankton, material transfers and energy flow in pelagic.

Definition of phytoplankton, classification of freshwater phytoplankton, physical, chemical and biologic factors influencing on phytoplankton, planktonic algae flora of lake, pond, river, source waters, food chain in the freshwaters, qualitative and quantitative investigation methods in phytoplankton biomass.
