The aim of this course is to comprehend the basic concepts, parts and content of human and economic geography.

Course Contents
Population geography (past and present increase, distribution, density and factors affecting the world population, censuses, policies, migrations, languages, religions, races, cultures and cultural regions); settlement geography (development and distribution of settlements from the first settlements to the present and the factors affecting them; classifications of settlements, functions); economic geography (fields of economic activity: sectoral classification according to their characteristics, development and geographical distribution, factors affecting its development and distribution, interaction of economic activities with the natural and human environment, and problems specific to the field of activity and environmental problems arising from this interaction).

1Definition, subject and parts of human and economic geography. Basic concepts of population geography. General characteristics and change of the world population. Demographic characteristics of the world population.
2Factors that play a role in population change: Fertility, deaths, migrations. Basic concepts of settlement geography. Factors affecting settlement. Types of settlements: Rural settlements and their distribution. Urban settlements and dispersal.
3Cultural geography: Languages and religions, races and cultures in the world.
4Settlement Geography; Rural Settlement Arrangements
5Settlement Geography; Urban Settlement Orders
6Agricultural activities in the world: Factors affecting agriculture. Agricultural types. Major agricultural products, livestock and fishing activities in the world.
7Forestry activities in the world. The world's main forest belts and forest products. Materials used in timber and shipping. Resin and mushroom production from forests.

10Mines and Energy resources Industry: Factors affecting industrial activities. Major types of industries. Distribution and general characteristics of industry in the world
11Transportation: Sea routes. Railways. Highways. Airlines. Pipelines. Communication.
12Tourism and recreation: Recreation. Tourism: Its development, influencing factors, recreation and tourism areas. Major tourist areas.
13Tourism regions and attractions in the world. Location preferences of tourists.
14Trade: Basic concepts. Types. Factors affecting trade. Domestic trade. Foreign trade.
