Academic Calendar
An academic year consists of fall and spring semesters, each has minimum a study period of 16 weeks, including midterm exams, final and make-up (if any) exams.
The University embraces many diverse fields and disciplines of study; therefore the academic calendar and the duration of studies vary.

In Faculty of Dentistry, Faculty of Pharmacy, School of Nursing, School of State Turkish Music Conservatory, Ödemiş Medical School, Izmir Ataturk Medical School and Çeşme Tourism School, most of the courses are taught in annual basis, make-up examinations are offered. The period of these exams:
For fall semester: January 24 – February 2, 2011
For spring semester: August 15 -28, 2011
