General Description of Ordu University

Ordu University was founded on 17 March 2006 with the law no. 5467 that was about founding 15 new universities. The law was published at the official gazette no. 26111 and became valid..

Our university is a young one but it has well-established experiences as it was founded on the basis of two highly important universities.

Ordu University was founded by combining the Faculty of Economics Administrative and Social Sciences of Ünye, Marine Sciences Faculty of Fatsa, Science-Letters Faculty, Health High School and Mesudiye High School of Ondokuz Mayıs University and Agricultural Faculty and High School of Karadeniz Technical University. Later on, Faculty of Medicine, Faculty of Fine Arts, Faculty of Dentistry, Faculty of Education and Faculty of Theology, Institutes of Science, Social and Health Sciences, State Conservatory, Physical Education and Sports High School, Tourism and Hotel Management High School and Fatsa, Ulubey, Akkuş, Aybastı and İkizce High Schools have been added to the university under the identity of Ordu University. Our next mission is to prepare all of the departments to accept students by equipping them academically, physically and technically.

In Ordu University, we generate values with learning organization understanding and a participative understanding dominated by an administration based on quality.

We build our learning and research policy in harmony with the national policies to make Ordu University a university of international standards. We focus on providing the highest benefit to our country. With the education programs, we aim at making students question and criticize things, have responsibility, take initiative and have empathy.
