History
The program was established on 15.08.2013 and started accepting students in the Fall semester of the 2013-2014 Academic Year.

Specific Admission Requirements
In order to apply for Labour Economics and Industrial Relations Master’s Programme, it is required to get a minimum score of 55 from the Graduate Education Exam (ALES) and a foreign language score which is equal to the level determined by the university from a valid national or international language exam. An interview is conducted with the candidates by an academic jury. Students who have fulfilled these conditions and who are successful in the written exam are accepted to the program at the beginning of fall semester. Acceptance of exchange program students are conducted within the scope of bilateral agreements and the procedure is carried out by International Office Department. While admission of national students is executed by Farabi Exchange Program Department, admission of international students is executed by Student Affairs Department.
Specific Arrangements For Recognition Of Prior Learning (Formal, Non-Formal and Informal)
Lateral transfer is possible for students of master's programme who have successfully completed at least one semester at another department of the same university and the same institute, or at a master's programme of another equivalent institute of another higher education institute. According to the related by laws, the courses that a lateral transfer student should take within the scope of 'Programme Adjustment' are determined by the committee of the relevant department. The determination of which and how many of the previously taken courses should be recognized within scope of the minimum course load, is suggested by the advisor and the committee of the relevant department,as well. "Full Recognition" is provided upon the approval of those courses by the board of chairs of relevant institute. Ordu University guarantees in advance that all credits gained and courses received by an Erasmus student after the mobility abroad will be fully recognized and transferred into Ordu University system and upon arrival with the approval of the authorities and the student. While preparing the" Erasmus Credit Transfer and Grade Equivalency Table" the ECTS grades are transmitted to Ordu University grading system. Turkish higher education institutions are in the start-up phase about the recognition of informal and non formal education. However; computer and foreign language skills that students improve on their own, are evaluated through exemption examinations by the university. Students who prove to be proficient in such exams are exempted from related course(s).
Qualification Requirements and Regulations
In order to be awarded a degree from MSc programs with thesis, candidates are required to succeed in 8 courses, a seminar and thesis study. The total workload to be accomplished for MSc programs with thesis is 120 ECTS.
Profile of The Programme
Candidates, holding a Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, conduct field specific studies using qualitative and quantitative research methods while enriching their knowledge in the field of expertise thanks to the courses offered by the Master’s Program. Candidates are offered a variety of compulsory and elective courses appealing to candidate’s fields of interests with an interdisciplinary approach by various departments of the institute.
Occupational Profiles of Graduates With Examples
Employment fields of Labour Economics and Industrial Relations master's degree graduates are various in national and international levels. Graduates of this program may be employed as inspector, specialist, director and consultant in human resources or personnel departments of private or public institutions. Beside those alternatives, they also have the opportunity to work as inspector, specialist or attaché within the Ministry of Labour and Social Security and Family and Social Policies Ministry. Moreover, graduates increasingly find the chance to work in many institutions or companies offering employment consultancy service, notably Turkish Labour Institute due to the recent changes in working life. Moreover, the employment possibility in international institutions, namely OECD, ILO and international joint ventures increase rapidly due to the foreign language proficiency.
Access to Further Studies
Graduates of the master’s degree in labour economics and industrial relations may apply to domestic or foreign doctorate programs in related study fields.
Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading
Each student must attend at least 70% of the courses, applications and other studies of the semester s/he is enrolled in. Students who have not fulfilled this obligation are not allowed to take the final exam of related courses. Once the student fulfilled the attendance requirements in courses, no attendance is required if the course is repeated later. While determining the course grade, in addition to the performance of the student on midterm and final exams, project and/or short assignment performances may be involved to the final evaluation as well. Examinations are arranged and conducted by the Social Sciences Institute.
Graduation Requirements
So as to be granted a degree, students must successfully complete the courses offered by the program and reach 120 ECTS credits in total and successfully complete a scientifically valid master’s thesis approved by an academic jury.

Facilities
Department of Labour Economics benefits from the opportunities of Unye Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences. The faculty consists of administration building, social facilities including conference hall, kitchen, cafeteria and canteen, and the service building where classrooms and offices of staff members in it. The conference hall, a capacity of 250 persons, is respond to any event. There are 14 classrooms, a computer lab, a library and a reading room in the classroom building. Campus is located at the edge of the seaside and the state coast roadand there are also amphitheater, volleyball and basketball courts and seating areas. The faculty is five km far away from Unye and the direction of transport activities to Ordu and Samsun operates steadily. Besides, there are also a variety of clubs in the university. The students can join them in accordance with their interest.

6They will be able to draw conclusions on the wage that must be paid by discussing the relation between wage and productivity.
7They will be able to make evaluation about the unionization, employment and labour markets during the participation process of Turkey to the European Union.
8They will be able to perceive the importance attached to the wage by various stakeholder groups (employer, employee, state, union and society etc.)
9They will be able to evaluate and discuss the social structure of Turkey.
10They will be able to relate the changes in the labour market and the evolution of unionism and collective bargaining.
11They will be able to evaluate the social security system and discuss the social security reform.
