Profile of The Programme
As in the international academic community, interdisciplinary studies have started to be emphasized in our country in recent years. Interdisciplinary teaching, which is a teaching method that is influenced by many disciplines and includes data from more than one discipline, involves the integration and synthesis of information from various disciplines in order to obtain answers or ideas that cannot be developed by focusing on only one discipline. The communication and media sector is one of the fields that always maintains its dynamism as it exists in an environment where technology and social innovations constantly renew themselves. Considering that there are continuous changes and transformations in social communication processes, technologically, individually and in terms of content, the importance of understanding these processes increases even more. The Communication Studies program, which was opened as an interdisciplinary program at the Institute of Social Sciences, is evaluated to meet the above-mentioned need. As an interdisciplinary field, the Communication Studies program is a program that includes all fields related to the communication and media sector such as mass media, journalism, advertising, public relations and promotion, radio cinema television, new media, digital media, as well as sociology, psychology, social and educational psychology, political science, business, health management, gender studies and technology studies. The Communication Studies Master's program will make significant academic contributions to Ordu University and the field with its thesis studies, publications and research. In addition to all these, the program aims to meet the postgraduate education needs of public and private sector employees in Ordu in this field. In this context, as an interdisciplinary program, it is seen that the opening of the Communication Studies program will benefit all institutional and individual stakeholders in and around Ordu province.
