Profile of The Programme
The main goal of the program is; To train graduates with all the authority and responsibilities who have the knowledge and skills to define, explain, apply, decide, teach, and work in archaeological excavations the basic principles of general Archeology and three sub-departments (Classical Archaeology, Protohistory and Near East Archaeology, Prehistory). The program trains its students to be employed in areas where archeology is used. The stakeholders with whom the program interacts and is asked to interact can be summarized as TÜBİTAK, General Directorate of Foundations, Ministry of Culture and Tourism and various institutions and organizations affiliated to ministries, especially museums affiliated to the ministry, Universities, Municipalities, Research Institutions, Institutes, Alumni, Archaeologists Association. In addition, they can also work on construction projects that require national and international cultural heritage management.
Occupational Profiles of Graduates With Examples
If our graduates meet various university conditions, they can work as academics in many universities and Archeology Departments abroad. If our graduates get the required score from KPSS, T.R. They can work in various units of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, such as the General Directorate of Museums, the Monuments Board, the Cultural and Natural Heritage Preservation Boards, and especially in many museums located all over Turkey. Similarly, they can find jobs in other government institutions such as Municipalities, Governorships and State Hydraulic Works. Rescue excavations required for large construction projects such as BOTAŞ and Marmaray employ many archaeologists on a contract basis. Archaeologists are also employed in private museums and research centers, the number of which has been increasing in Turkey in recent years. Journals and publishing houses publishing in the field of archeology also employ archaeologists from time to time. Archeology graduates can enter T.R. if they know a foreign language well. After receiving the Tourist Guide training provided by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, they can work as licensed tourist guides. In addition, they can also be employed in other branches of the tourism industry.

Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading
Students must attend classes and take exams. The student's attendance is monitored by the course instructor. All exams are evaluated out of 100 full points, and a midterm exam (or mid-semester study assignment) and a final exam (final) are held for each course. In courses where midterm and final exams are given, the success grade is calculated by taking 40% of the midterm exam grade and 60% of the final exam.
Graduation Requirements
Having taken and successfully completed at least 7 courses and seminars, not less than 21 national credits; Students who are successful in the thesis defense exam are awarded a master's degree in Archeology.

5He plans solutions to the problems he encounters in his job and daily life by using his analytical thinking ability.
6Expresses his/her knowledge and experiences, thoughts and solution suggestions in writing and verbally, within the framework of ethical rules, when necessary, on issues related to his/her field.
7He/she has the knowledge of a foreign language at a level to be able to communicate with colleagues and understand studies published in a foreign language.
