The Primary Teaching Programme was founded in 2013 at Ordu University. Department of Elemantary Education is continuing education Ordu University campus of Cumhuriyet. At present, it has 3 dynamic academic personnel composed of 9 Assistant Professors . |

Specific Arrangements For Recognition Of Prior Learning (Formal, Non-Formal and Informal) |
The rules and regulations for recognition of formal prior learning are well defined. Transfer can be made among the institutions of which equivalency is recognized by Higher Education Council. Also successful vocational school graduates to continue their education to obtain Bachelor’s degrees if they are successful in the selection and the placement examination (DGS, i.e. vertical transfer examination) are admitted. The courses to be taken by these students are determined by the relevant department, on the basis of courses they have completed in the programs from which they have graduated. |

Profile of The Programme |
The aim of this programme is to educate the prospective classroom teachers with the knowledge of basic academical issues as well as necessary skills and talents for the profession. Besides, the students are educated for combining the theoretical knowledge with practical; being the right model for their students as an individual and a teacher; with the ability of improving themselves and managing the time, of structuring effective communication; with the responsibility of obeying the scientific ethical rules; of being sensitive to human being, society and nature, and being aware of the importance of life-long learning. |

The graduates holding Bachelor’s Degree are eligible to apply to Master’s Degree programmes at national level and /or international level both in the same and in related disciplines. |
Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading |
Assessment methods may include classical test(s), multiple-choice test(s), homework(s), performance evaluation(s), and product evaluation(s). In order to graduate from the program, cumulative GPA must be minimum 60. A course grade is constituted by evaluating the above stated elements and given by using letters. To succeed in a course, students must get at least 50 points from the final exam and have at least 60 points average. |

Facilities |
In the Primary Education program, there are 2 professors, 2 associate professors, 2 assistant professors and 1 research assistant. Students who successfully complete all courses in the program and receive a bachelor's degree in Primary Education are awarded a minimum 2.00 out of 4.00 GPA. Students who graduate from this department will have a teacher qualified to perform all over the dormitory. |
