Ordu University Education Faculty Primary Mathematics Teacher Education Department, was established in 2013 and it started training in 2013-2014 academic year. Primary Mathematics Teacher Education Department offers a four-year program and trains students for becoming equipped and skilled middle school math teachers. |

Profile of The Programme |
The primary mission of the Department of Mathematics Education is to educate mathematics teachers with criticizing, thinking, having self-confidence. Furthermore, the department aims to prepare educators, scholars, and researchers who are advanced in their field of study, and are well skilled in the repertoire of research methods rooted in various paradigms, the effective uses of technology and the analysis, design, development, implementation and evaluation of instructional practices. |
Occupational Profiles of Graduates With Examples |
The majority of graduates works as a mathematics teacher or administrator in the primary schools of national education , private schools or courses. However, some graduates continues his or her academic career with the domestic or abroad graduate training.

Access to Further Studies |
Applicants for graduate study are required to have Bachelor's Degree and Academic Personnel and Post Graduate Education Admittance Examination (ALES), that is centrally organized by Student Selection and Placement Center (ÖSYM). to take a written test and a verbal examination given by the academic unit.

Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading |
Each course is assessed via a midterm exam(%40), and a final end-of-term exam(%60). The marking is made out of 100.

Graduation Requirements |
To complete the bachelor´s degree in Mathematics Education program the students must successfully complete the required and elective courses (total 240 ECTS) and maintain the minimum cumulative GPA of 2,0/4,0.

Mathematic Education program have 1 professor, 4 associate professor, 1 assistant professors and 1 research assistant. Successfully completed all the courses available in the program and at least 2.00 on a 4.00 grade point average for students who obtain a bachelor's degree in the field of Mathematic teacher is given. Students who graduate from this department competent to perform all over the country will have a teacher. |
