General Description
|
|
History | The department was established by Law No. 3837 become valid on 03.07.1992 as depending on the Karadeniz Technical University. The department started to education by accepting students to the Business Administration Programme at the Ünye Recreational Facilities under the ownership of The Central Union of Turkish Agricultural Credit Cooperatives in the academic year of 1994-1995. The department connected to the 19 Mayıs University by the Cabinet Decree numbered 2001/2553 and dated 02/05/2001, then to the Ordu University by law which was published in the Official Gazette dated 17.03.2006 and numbered 5467. As a general framework, the department comprises fields of business administration sciences, and examined in detail it covers the theoretical and practical knowledge about accounting and finance, management and organization, production management and marketing, quantitative methods, cooperation and commercial law. | Qualification Awarded | Upon successful completion of the program graduates to fulfill all the requirements are entitled to Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration. | Level of Qualification | First Cycle | Specific Admission Requirements | For detailed information, please check out "Ordu University, Associate Degree - Bachelor's Degree -Education and Examination Guidelines". | Specific Arrangements For Recognition Of Prior Learning (Formal, Non-Formal and Informal) | In The Turkish Higher Education Institutions, recognition of prior formal learning, vertical transfers, lateral transfers, and transfers in a university are made under “THE REGULATION ABOUT TRANSFERS BETWEEN ASSOCIATE AND UNDERGRADUATE PROGRAMS, DOUBLE MAJOR, AND MINOR AT HIGHER EDUCATION INSTITUTIONS, AND INTERNATIONAL CREDIT TRANSFERS AMONG INSTITUTIONS" determined by Higher Education Board. Except formal education institutions, recognition of learning process based on non-formal certification or experience-based is in its early stages in Turkey. Therefore, recognition of prior learning in the all programs of the Ordu University has not been started completely. However, the exemption exams for some courses such as English in the learning plans of programs are held at the beginning of each academic term. Students who expect competencies for these courses have the right to take these exams. Students who achieve a passing grade for the exams are exempt from the related course in the curriculum. | Qualification Requirements and Regulations | To successfully complete all the courses in the program (a total of 240 ECTS) and to have a GPA of at least 2.00 out of 4.00 are required for graduation. | Profile of The Programme | Students graduated from Business Administration Department are prepared as preferred employees for services, tourism and industrial sectors in both public and private sectors. Also, the program can be assigned to the task of training individuals available as self-employed accountants, financial advisers, and senior executives in Public Institutions with the title of Certified Public Accountants. | Occupational Profiles of Graduates With Examples | Students who graduate from our department are the preferred employees for service, tourism and industrial sectors, and they may also be self-employed with the title of Certified Public Accountants. Graduated students can find employment opportunities in Small and Medium-sized Enterprises ( SMEs), big-sized companies, and multinational companies. According to personal interests and preferences, they can work in many areas such as accounting, market research, production, marketing, after-sales services, planning, management and control. If they succeed the KPSS test, they may have senior executive positions in public institutions and organizations, also they may be assigned as inspectors, controllers, auditors, experts, etc. tasks or may work as a clerk. Students who meet the required conditions may take the exams of the administrative judicial magistrate, and successful candidates in the written exam conducted by OSYM, and the interviews conducted by the Ministry of Justice can be served as administrative judge. Graduates which are able to improve themselves and their computer skills can work in various computer-based institutions. Our graduates may employed in a variety of institutions engaged in scientific research, may devise a project, and may be an academicians. | Access to Further Studies | Upon successful completion of bachelor's degree students, on conditions that having enough score on ALES exam, and sufficient English language skills can attend graduate programs in their major or in related other majors. | Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading | One midterm and one final exam are conducted in courses scheduled as semester. By aggregating of 40% of midterm exam and 60% of final exam, the student’s final grade is determined. With symposiums, conferences and panels held on various topics with invited speakers through our department, it is provided that our students may follow applications closely as well as their theoretical knowledge. In addition, football, basketball, volleyball etc. sports teams are available for students to take part in. |
