Specific Arrangements For Recognition Of Prior Learning (Formal, Non-Formal and Informal) |
Recognition of prior formal learning, vertical, horizontal and transitions within the university in institutions of the Turkish Higher Education is carried out under the basis of regulation of Transferring Between Programs of the Higher Education Associate Degree and Degree-Level, Double Major, Minor and Making Credit Transfer Inter-Agency defined by The Council of Higher Education. However, an exemption exam is held for the Computer, English and German courses which take place in the programmes' education schedule, at the beginning of each academic term. The students who consider they have the relevant qualifications, have the right to take these exams, and successful students will be exempt from the relevant courses. |

Profile of The Programme |
Sociology department is carrying out an education program in order to train sociologists. The objective of the Sociology Department is to train individuals who can adopt sociological perspective, approach facts and problems critically and as objective as possible, evaluate sociology within the frame of integrated approach by using scientifically-accepted methods and techniques, transfer their acquired-knowledge to others via education or various publications. On our course programs, along with compulsory courses, there are selective courses as well in order to give students the chance of selecting courses suitable for the fields in which he/she wants to get specialized. |
Occupational Profiles of Graduates With Examples |
Our graduates, who have pedagogic formation and obtain sufficient score in KPSS (Civil Servant Election Exam), can be assigned as sociology teacher by the Ministry of the National Education. Our graduates can also teach sociology in private or assistive educational institutions. In addition to these, there are employment opportunities in public services, local and regional administrations, journalism, international organizations, tourism and research companies. |

Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading |
Students from all courses at least one midterm and a final exam are subjected to. The contribution to the midterm exam grade is 40%, the contribution of the final exam is 60%. All exams are graded out of 100 points. Final examinations are required to obtain at least 50 points. Notes 4 'is expressed with the system. A student, BA, BB, CB and CC one of the students taking the course are considered to have succeeded |
