Objectives of the Course
Objective of this course is introduce to biology, behavior and ecology of insects in forensic investigation and guessing the elapsed time between finding the corpse and the death.

1Know the insect groups which fed on corpses and their life cycle
2Know how to sampling on the corpse and laboratory processes of these samples.
3Know the Equipment used at the fields of crime and get ability of using them.

5Know basic ecology of insect groups used in forensic entomology.

Fast population growth, urbanization, increasing of economic expectations and dramatic contradiction in living standards bring with the increasing crime rates in resulting murder between people.The people whose relative were murdered, want to know the relatives’ time of death and at the same time, this is both social and judicial requirement including probate lawsuits. Forensic entomology, utilizes entomological evidences and guesses the time of death; 1. The decedent was replaced or not; 2. İdentifying processes of death-causing toxic material’s by larvae; 3. Experimental studies of forensic insect fauna comprises.
