Objectives of the Course
In this course, the questions: ?What is Media Literacy?, What is Media Literacy in Turkey and in the World?, Why Media Literacy is required?? will be responded. In addition, Elementary Media Literacy course cirriculum, procedures of its applications, Media Literacy textbooks and their contents, assessment and evaluation methods for Media Literacy will be explored.

Course Contents
Media literacy course, has entered the curriculum as an ?elective course? for primary 6th, 7th and 8th classes in the 2007-2008 academic year in Turkey(As more than 50 countries all around the world). In 2008-2009 academic year, Media Literacy course are taught as an ?elective course? as well. Currently, around 400 thousand 6th,7th and 8th grader students have chosen this course in Istanbul as well as in Ankara and course are brought to life all in Turkey. In this context, providing importance about Media Literacy and explaining the importance, returns and method of this course to students in our Faculty, constitute the course content.
