Objectives of the Course
The main aim of the course; to get to know the family and child culture, to have information about the changing family structure and the value of the child in Turkish culture from past to present, to assimilate the child-family-society relationship in the social and cultural context. In addition to this course; individuals who will specialize in the field of early childhood education; It is aimed to gain a perspective on the conceptualization of childhood.

Course Contents
Different family structures, Turkish family structure; The values and behaviors towards raising children in Turkish society, the value of the child; Family culture, traditions and customs in Anatolia; nuclear family interaction with extended family, extended nuclear family model; The Changing Family Structure and the Value of the Child Research in Turkey, intercultural child and family studies; child and family in individualistic, collectivist and relational cultures, child culture, culturally sensitive teacher and family participation.
