Objectives of the Course
Ensuring the formation of a maritime awareness in our country surrounded by seas on three sides; The importance of maritime and maritime policies in the Ottoman Empire's becoming a great empire; Taking into account such historical developments, the main goal is to understand the events of today and to ensure the emergence of new ideas in solving their problems.

World Maritime History, European Maritime History, the importance Turks attach to maritime, The arrival of the Turks in Anatolia and the first maritime activities, Çaka Bey, Byzantine and Turkish Maritime, Turkish maritime in the period of the Great Seljuq and Anatolian Principalities, Aydınoğlu Umur Bey and maritime activities and the shipyards established in this period, Maritime activities during the establishment of the Ottoman State; administrative organization in the classical period, shipbuilding activities and newly established shipyards, Ottoman struggle against Venice and Genoese and technological developments in maritime; Conqueror sultan Mehmet and sea policies, Ottoman seamanship in the reign of Suleiman the Magnificent. Barbaros Hayrettin Pasha and Ottoman maritime state organization, Classical period Turkish maritime center and provincial organization, Classical period Turkish maritime historical artifacts and historians, Turkish seamanship and reforms during the stagnation period, Ottoman naval organization in the early 19th century; personnel structure and ship types, Navy in Sultan III Selim reforms, who formed the modern Turkish maritime, Foreign experts in the Turkish Navy during the Nizam-ı Cedid term; Situation of Istanbul and provincial stalls, galleon construction, 1827 Navarin sea battle and Turkish navy.
