Objectives of the Course |
To give to student's necessary knowledge of leadership and ship personnel management including safety management, security management and risk management knowledge in accordance with the STCW 78 (2010 as amended) and national legislation for seafarers, for being unlimited deck officer, chief mate and master. |

Course Contents |
Personnel management, principles of controlling subordinates and maintaining good relationships, staff attitudes, exercise of authority group behaviour, conditions of employment. Organization of staff, manning arrangements, work analysis, allocation of staff, organizing for ship maintenance, organizing communications on board, techniques of meetings. On board training, training methods, safety training, emergency drills, training in ship operations, training in maintenance, health tainting and hygiene the authority of the master, punishment and reward, team management, capability and knowledge of decision techniques, leadership. |
