Objectives of the Course |
Aim of this course is to give information about impact of food industries waste on human health, environment and economy, utilization of byproducts and waste materials from food processing industries, treatment methods of wastes from several food processing operations. |

Course Contents |
Basic concepts of waste and byproduct, sources and properties of waste and byproducts in food industry, classification of waste and byproducts in food industry, structure properties and chemical compounds of waste and byproducts, characterization of wastewater in food industry, wastewater treatment methods. Recovery of waste and byproducts of sugar, fat and oil, fruit and vegetable, meat, cereal, dairy and fermented food industry. Enrichment of waste and byproducts by biotechnological methods. |
