Objectives of the Course
The course aims to provide the student a general knowledge on the conversation of natural and cultural heritage, making it livable by giving new functions, establishing the suitable relationships between outdoor spaces and buildings while conserving the historical heritage by using a process which establishes a balance between new and old with harmonic and contrast approaches.

Learning Outcomes
1gather a general knowledge of historical heritage and its classification and will be able to summarize the conservation concepts of historic environments.
2evaluate the development of historical environment conservation and its necessity and to have the general knowledge to define the basic conservation strategies.
3determine the relationships between past cultural concepts of historical environments and their contemporary geography and culture and to evaluate by using which conservation strategy they can achieve the past-future integration.
4 develop suitable past and future relationships in order to choose the most useful conservation strategy in historical environment planning process.
5develop design approaches using conservation strategies for the historical environments.
