Objectives of the Course |
The aim of this course is to help students be able; to provide an understanding of the basic concepts and components of geographic information systems; to learn the aim of geographic information systems related to landscape architecture, to understand map projections, data structures, the use of geographic information as a tool in landscape planning studies. |

Basic concepts and components of geographic information systems, the aim and use of geographic information systems, history of geographic information systems, GIS data, technical information such as map sheets, coordinate systems, map projections etc., planning stage in geographic information systems, data structures, raster and vector data, spatial and non spatial data, case studies on geographic information systems related to landscape planning, student presentations. |
