Objectives of the Course
This course will show how classical mythology has been and can be used as a source of unlimited inspiration for filmmakers, how film narration is indebted to mythic structures, how different film genres rely on mythology as a launching pad for their various destinations and how cinema creates its own contemporary mythologies.

Course Contents
Concept of myth, mythology, myhical figures and cinema, a contemporary myth-making machine, which appropriates mythical structures, themes and archetypes.
