Objectives of the Course
The aim of the course is • to provide information about the fundamentals of protein purification • to give information about the protein purification techniques and their mechanisms • to enhance students' communication skills and critical thinking through in-class team work and presentations related to protein purification techniques.

Course Contents
Protein purification strategy and equipment, assay to identify a target protein, extraction of protein from cells or tissue, techniques for clarifying homogenized extracts, storage of protein samples, ion exchange chromatography (IEX), hydrophobic interaction chromatography (HIC), affinity chromatography, size exclusion chromatography (SEC), electrophoresis of proteins.
