Objectives of the Course

The aim of this course is to narrate basic events in the Russian history to the students to provide understanding of political, social and cultural history.

4	To be able to describe of history and cultural substructure of Russia with which Ottoman State disputed so much in her history
5	To be able to explain of Russian state geography and revising of similarities between the Ottoman State and Russia
6	To be able to define of sources of political and military struggle between the Ottoman State and Russia

Course Contents

Historical development of Russia from its origin to today. Her struggles with neigbours and states during her expention procces. Relations with the Ottomans, historical developments of Turco-Russian relations and struggles, information about Russian emperors and empresses, comparison of Petros’ reforms in Russian and Ottoman reforms, similarities and differences among the two states, information about Russian culture and social life of Russia.
