Objectives of the Course |
The aim of the course is evaluation of the periods of III. Selim, and II. Mahmut, when the tendency towards modernization of Ottoman Empire increased, and analysis of the circumstances brought about by Reformation Decree in the period of Abdulmacid and the circumstances brought about by the tendency towards constitutional regime and presentation of the ideological movements which appeared through the political movements in the I. and II. Constitutional period and realized in the period of II.Abdulmacid .

Course Contents |
The content of the course includes the defects in the system of the state, efforts of rectification, Modern Regulation, modernization activities in the military, legal and economic fields in the period of Reforms, in the I. and II. Constitutional Periods, political life in the Constitutional Periods, tendency and movements of westernization, evolution of the ideologies for the quality of being an Ottoman, being a Turk, and Pan-Islamism, political parties in the period of Ottoman, Committee of Union and Progress, the Party of Liberty and Entente.
