1Learn the main terms and principles of international conventions, and the stages of acceptance.
2Comprehend the international conventions of safety, security and indemnity in details.
3Analyse the applications of the fundamental concepts of main conventions such as SOLAS, MARPOL, SALVAGE in ship management.
4Review the impacts of the maritime conventions to legal scope.

Course Contents
Structure, functions and status of the International Maritime Organization (IMO), All International conventions relating with the commercial maritime and maritime transportation activities. Sanction of international convention. To study the major regulatory IMO instruments including STCW 78/95, MARPOL 73/78, SOLAS 74, ISM, TONNAGE, LL 66 and ITU to acquire a sound appreciation for role of IMO and of maritime administrations in the regulation of maritime safety and environmental protection. Fisheries conventions of Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO). Torremolinos 1993 protocol and fishing vessel crew training. Harmonization of seafarers for STCW-F convention. International Labor Organization (ILO) convention. To protect of healthy Fishing boat and merchant ship crew. Harmony of process from International to national conventions and regulations.
