To understand the possible effects of various fishing gears and other fisheries activities such as aquaculture, fish processing and enhencement on coastal ecosystems, development and application of environmental friendly fishing methods and fishing gear

Course Contents
Coastal ecosystem and fisheries activities, classification of fishing gear, active and passive fishing methods, properties of fishing gear operated in coastal waters, effects of each type of net to the bottom, water column and the surface of the sea affecting direct or indirectly to flora and fauna, ghost fishing and its effects to the environment, environmental effects of aquaculture, fish processing and enhencement of water resources.

3Fishing gear and fishing methods, effects of active (purse seine, trawl and dredge)and passive (gill nets, long lines, traps and pound nets) gears.

5Ghostfishing, causes, effects and measures have to be taken to prevent nature.
6Effects of aquaculture and processing, decomposable material selection, chemical pollutants.
7Sustainable fisheries, basic priciples and relationship with fisheries management.
