Objectives of the Course
The aim of the course is • to provide the basic knowledge about morphological and genetic definition methods of vine species and varieties • to give the students knowledge in the fields of plant breeding, in-vitro techniques used in plant breeding • to teach developments in the area of plant biotechnology

Learning Outcomes
1To have knowledge about the plant tissue and cell culture techniques like embryogenesis, organogenesis, in vitro plant regeneration, protoplast culture, somatic hybridization, haploid plant production, plant disease-free synthesis of meristem culture, micro propagation and zygotic embryo culture
2To have Learn gene transfer via Agrobacterium tumefaciens, particle gun, micro injection and protoplasts
3To have knowledge about the contribution of plant biyotechnology to breeding and cultivation of field crops

• The conceptand context of plant breeding • Basic definitions used in plant breeding • In-vitro techniques used in plant breeding will be examined in detail.
