Dersin Amacı
Edebiyat kavramını, temel edebi türler, alttürler ve bu türlerin temel öğe ve terimlerini örnek metinlerle tanımlama yoluyla öğrencileri edebi çalışmalarla tanıştırmak, edebi yaklaşımları örnek uygulamalarla kısaca gözden geçirerek öğrencilerin inceleme ve kritik düşünme yeteneklerini geliştirme ve İngiliz edebiyatındaki dönemleri ana hatlarıyla tanıtmayı amaçlar.

Öğrenme Çıktıları
1Öğrenciler basit günlük diyalogları gerçekleştirebilir. Farklı konularda konuşurken uygun kelimeleri kullanır. Açık ve anlaşılır bir telaffuz kullanarak konuşur. Sözlü iletişimde temel dil bilgisi yapılarını kullanır.
2Öğrenciler okudukları ve dinledikleri metinleri anlayıp, onlarla ilgili sorulara cevap verme becerisini geliştirebilir
3Okuma parçalarında analitik ve eleştirel düşünme yeteneklerini geliştirebilir.
4Akademik okuma için gerekli sözcük dağarcıklarını geliştirebilir.
5Farklı türlerde metinler yazarak kendilerini ifade edebilir.
