Objectives of the Course
The aim of this course is to give pre-service teachers an understanding of how to benefit from child-specific works in order to gain reading culture and pleasure in children. It will be emphasized how to use children's literature works in the development of language skills and what should be considered in choosing works.

1Comprehends the concepts, facts, principles and generalizations related to the field of children's literature and the relations between them.
2Has knowledge of primary school students' development and learning characteristics and difficulties.

4It organizes the appropriate educational situations required by children's literature based on students' individual differences and developmental characteristics.
5Examines children's literature products with a critical point of view.

Course Contents
Scanning and promoting the sources about Children's Literature; selection and evaluation of books and other materials appropriate to children's levels; It aims to gain knowledge, skills and attitudes about the general features of Turkish and World Children's Literature, its historical development, general features and types of children's books.
