Objectives of the Course
With this course, it is aimed that students acquire basic information related to practicum in group counseling area, and also comprehend group process and the concepts about group counseling.

Learning Outcomes
1Students will be able to comprehend the competencies, personal characteristics and roles of the group leader. Students will be able to comprehend the ethic codes for group counseling. Students will be able to provide the therapeutic conditions in group counseling. Students will be able to use the therapeutic skills in group counseling. Students will be able to practice the rules for begining, conducting and terminating the group counseling process. Students will be able to know the group members who have difficulties and their characteristics in group counseling. Students will be able to knowledge of stages of group. Students will be able to distinguish the similarities and diffirences of group counseling skills and individual counseling skills. Students will be able to distinguish the similarities and diffirences of group counseling process and individual counseling process. Students will be able to employ the therapeutic skills in accordance with stages of group. Students will be able to willingness to be a group leader. Students will be able to appreciating the importance of group counseling process.

Basic elements of group process: An overview I (Introduction to group work/group leadership), Basic elements of group process: An overview II (Early stages in the development of a group), Basic elements of group process: An overview III (Later stages in the development of a group), The role of techniques in group process / ethical issues in using group techniques, Techniques for preparing groups, Techniques for the initial stage, Techniques for the transition stage. (Characteristics of the initial stage, techniques for dealing with difficult clients), Techniques for the transition stage. (Techniques for dealing with conflicts, techniques for exploring common fears and resistance, working with challenges to leaders), Techniques for the working stage, (Characteristics of the working stage, working with emerging themes and intense emeotions), Techniques for the final stage.
