Objectives of the Course
The aim of this course is to learn concepts and theories related to the interaction of science and society and raise the level of intellectual knowledge on the lines that science draw and ways of problem solving of different approaches.

Course Contents
In this course science is dealed in macro and micro scale analyses and the shifts in science paradigm is discussed in relation with socio-cultural changes. Within this scope, patterns of interaction between science and political, economical, geographical and cultural causes is examined on the basis of temporal and spatial conditions. On micro level analyses social interactions within the community of scientists is discussed while on macro level, the interaction of the community of scientists with their positions concerning the institutional/organizational conditions regarding their position in scientific production is discussed.
