Comprehend the importance of educational technology, application of educational technology with learning and teaching methods, understanding educational technology, comprehending the effects of informatics technologies, and awareness of applications in informatics in our country and the world. Defining concepts related to instructional technology and material development. Comprehending the historical development of instructional technologies. Explaining the relationship between the instructional technology and system approach. Explaining the importance of communication in educational medium. Listing principles of message arrangement related to educational medium, explaining principles that one should consider while developing an instructional material. Explaining basic approach of material development. Comprehending the characteristics of presentation materials. Developing presentation materials considering their characteristics. Listing materials that are going to be used in educational medium. Developing materials that are going to be used in educational medium according to a purpose. Explaining how computer can be used in education. Evaluating materials that are prepared in educational medium according to process and product.

Course Contents
Concepts related to instructional technology, characteristics of various instructional technologies, the importance and usage of instructional technologies in the process of teaching, identification of the instructional technology needs of classroom or school, appropriate technology planning and its application, developing two or three dimensional materials by the help of instructional technologies, development of instructional materials (work sheets, designing and activity, overhead transparencies, slides, visual media materials, computer based materials), investigation of educational software, evaluation of instructional materials which are in various quality, Internet and distance education, principles of visual design, studies on the effectiveness of the instructional materials, the condition of instructional materials in Turkey and the world according to their usage.

2General definition of education, technology and educational technology. The relationship between the educational technology and science. The scope of educational technology.

5Definition and usage of classic educational technologies such as blackboard, white board, magnetic board, board that is covered by cloth, dial plate, sand board, and the bulletin board.
6Definition and usage of classic educational technologies such as written materials, graphics, models and samples, large and small sized pictures, posters and banners, press clippings, cardboard activities, dioramas and journeys.
7Definition and usage of modern educational technologies such as electronic board, phone, radio, cassette and CD, tape-recorder and stereo, lamination, camera.
