| Objectives of the Course |
| This course aims at enabling the students to build the idea of language and consciousness within the context of communication tool, social phenomenon and productivity component of culture; to conceptualize unit of the language with the level of relation among voice, syllable, word and affix; to make sense of word meaning and its function as telling. |

This course focuses mainly on the phonetic and morphological features of Turkish Language. |

History of grammatical studies. | | | | 2 | Relationship between language and culture. Classification of world languages in terms of structure and origin. Turkish language among world languages, historical periods of Turkish language. | | | | 3 | Spoken language-written language; dialect-accent and their features. Works belonging to different periods of Turkish language | | | | 4 | Definition of language sounds, physiologic bases of language, sound organs, sound-letter relationships and alphabet. Formation of sounds. Classification of sounds ( vowels), classification of sounds (consonants) | | | | 5 | Main sound features of Turkish words | | | | 6 | Main audio events in Turkish words.
