Objectives of the Course
The aim of this course is to present basic chemistry knowledge to student teachers that they can help primary students during teaching chemistry related topics such as matter which is in the Primary Science and Technology Curriculum. This course will also contribute to student teachers gaining scientific thinking skills by emphasising the relationship between daily life and chemistry.

Introduction to Chemistry and Matter: Specifications of Matters, Categorisation of Matter, State of Matters •Nomenclature of Inorganic Compounds •Atomic Structure, Electronic structure of Elements and Periodic Table. •Chemical Bonding: The Ionic Bond, The Covalent Bond, The Metallic Bond •The concept of mole: Atomic and molecular weight, Empiric and molecular Formula •Chemical Equation and Quantitative Relations •Gasses: Kinetic Theory, Gases Laws, Ideal Gas Laws, Dalton Law of Partial Pressures, Efusion and Difusion. •Liquid and Solids •Solutions: Nature of Solutions, Solving, Concentration of Solutions, Vapor Pressure of Solutions, Boiling and Freezing Point of Solutions, Osmosis, Solution of Electrolytes. •Chemical Kinetics and Chemical Equilibrium: Reaction Rates, Reaction mechanism Equilibrium Constants. •Acids and Bases, Ionic Equilibrium, pH and pOH. •Yükseltgenme-İndirgenme Reaksiyonları •Carbon Chemistry •Biochemistry
