Objectives of the Course
This course explores the cultural, social and historical background of Renaissance Period, includes the works of the most famous artists from the areas of painting, sculpture, and architecture in Italy and Northern Europa during the period.

Learning Outcomes
1Student explains the changes in historical process in Europe by means of the Renaissance in details by giving examples.
2Student explains the characteristics of the important buildings which were built in the Renaissance and the architects.
3Student informs about the most important painters in Renaissance and gives information about their drawings and the buildings on those paintings.
4Student recognizes sculptors and the sculptures which belong to Renaissance
5Student explains how the art education was conducted in Renaissance.

Course Contents
Flourishing of humanism and its influence on the arts and renewed interest in the antique world. Discovery of mathematical perspective and the development of secular and classical themes, as well as religious subjects. Famous artists and their works in painting, sculpture and architecture in Italy and Northern Europa during the period.
