Objectives of the Course

This lecture intends to teach the general architectural properties of the one of the sultanate, early Ottoman period (14th-15th centuries), by using one of the most authentic structures, mosque.

1	Learning the general architectural properties of the early Ottoman period.
2	Understanding the architectural similarities and differences between the early Ottoman, other Sultanate and Anatolian Seljuk
3	Comparing the planning and design of the early Ottoman mosques with the structures similarly or differently build in early or late times, understanding their position in Turkish architecture.

Course Contents

Political and geographical structure of the Anatolia in early ottoman era, comparing the early ottoman era architecture with the Anatolian Seljuk period and other sultanates, general properties of the early ottoman era architecture, material understanding in early ottoman era, mosque types in early Ottoman era.
