Objectives of the Course |
The course aims to provide the students with theoretical knowledge and analytical and creative skills as to understand and evaluate literature from an academic point of view by learning through reading literary texts and literary theory and criticism texts, and participating in lectures and seminar discussions. |

Course Contents |
The course focuses on one of the major English writers, William Shakespeare, and strengthens the students’ knowledge of the Renaissance author by disclosing the complexity of his life and literary activity. The emphasis is on those aspects of Shakespearean drama and poetry that both represented a continuation of the ancient and medieval literary practice and marked the rise and development of certain literary traditions, thus influencing the literary production of later periods. |
