Objectives of the Course
The aim of the course is to help the students develop effective study skills such as reading, skimming, note taking, revising, studying for exams and tips for success in exams, and to teach the students the necessary steps of research and writing a paper, which include selecting a topic, using the library, compiling a working bibliography, taking notes, avoiding plagiarism, preparing an outline and a well-organized, adequately supported research paper.

Learning Outcomes
1At the end of this course, the students will be able to comprehend the methods and techniques required for studying through reading and writing.
2They will be able to learn the necessary methods and techniques to prepare an academic research project, to conduct a research and write a well organized reaserch paper within the framework of MLA (Modern Language Association) documentation style.
3They will be able to use internet and library sources efficiently.
4They will be able to learn how to avoid plagiarism.

Course Contents
Improving the ability of (online) web and (offline) library researches, methods of note taking and organizing note cards, preparing a working bibliography and a works cited, respectively; selecting a topic, making an outline and writing an organized research paper.
