Objectives of the Course
The aim of this course is to learn basic technics and to practice methods in piano and to perform works of basic piano repertoire from different musical periods.

6Gains comprehension of the terms with regard to velocity and resonance.
7Becomes able to perform an opus appropriate for each artistic period.

Course Contents
Basic piano technics: Posture and hand position; staccato, legato, phrasing. Scale (in 1 key at least; with parallel motion) -Basic piano repertoire: Etudes & exercices; pieces from various musical periods ( appropiate to student’s level) -Sight reading: 2 clefs -Musical expression: phrasing and basic dynamics.

4Choosing Baroque, classical, romantic opuses of the level and deciphering

6Detailed exercises on the correct performance of the basic piano techniques met in opuses
7Exercises on the musical interpretation and styles of opuses
8Midterm Exam
9Determination of pedal places and implication
10Performance of the chosen opuses as a whole on a slow scale considering all details
11Performance of the chosen opuses as a whole on a slow scale considering all details
12Reinforcement of the given opuses
13Deciphering and technique practises according to level
14Performance studies on the opuses and etuds studied during the term. Exercising technique and deciphering
