Objectives of the Course
To teach the general concept of the effects of free surface and bilging on the stability. To teach the ship longitudinal strength by means of bending and shear stresses.

Calculating the effect of free surface of liquids (FSE), Bilging and permeability, Drydocking and grounding, Heel due to turning, Ship Stability and Ship Strength, Bending of beams, Bending of ships, Strength curves for ships, Bending and shear stresses. Dry Cargoes. Inspection And Preparation Of Holds, IMDG cargoes, Segregation And Seperation Of Cargoes, Securing Cargoes, Ventilation And Control Of Sweat, Deck Kargo, Refrigerated Cargo, Container, Cargo Handling, Cargo Handling Equipment, Cargo Handling Safety.
