Objectives of the Course
The aim of the course is; • to give the students basic information about sociological understanding of work • to give the range of social factors that shape the availability, organisation and experience of work.

1To describe the change and transformation taking place in work, family and labour relations at macro level due to the rise of the modern society
2To analyse the classic and modern theories explaining the rise of modern society.
3To understand the rise of post-industrial society at a theoretical basis.
4To show how technology and division of labour transform production relations and production process
5To analyse the alienating effect of work in modern society and to analyse the theories of alienation.
