Objectives of the Course
The aim of the Atatürk Principles and History of the Revolution course is to educate students about the fundamental characteristics of the Republic and its achievements by studying Atatürk's works. Additionally, it is aimed to teach the political developments during the completion phase of the Turkish revolution and the establishment process of the new state. Furthermore, another objective of the course is to educate students about Atatürk's political and social reforms. The Basic Concepts Knowledge related to the course includes concepts such as Reform, Improvement, Constitutionalism, Democracy, Republic, etc. The general situation of the Ottoman Empire, both internal and external factors that contributed to its collapse and influenced the reforms, are discussed. The Reform Movements, their causes and consequences, the Tripolitanian, Balkan, and World Wars I are covered. The reasons that led to the establishment of the Republic of Turkey, the national awakening triggered by the occupation of Anatolia after the Armistice of Mudros are explained. Atatürk's life, personality, and his landing in Samsun are discussed. The Preparatory Period of the National Struggle, the Opening and Features of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey, the battles and campaigns of the War of Independence, and historical events, facts, and concepts related to military and political relations with other states are explained and taught. The establishment of the new Turkish state and the formation of national historical consciousness regarding Atatürk's ideology and goals for modernization are emphasized. The aim of the Atatürk Principles and History of the Revolution course can be generally stated as teaching the birth and development of modern Turkey. To Turkish Youth: To provide accurate information to Turkish youth about the Turkish War of Independence, Atatürk's Principles and Reforms, Atatürk's thoughts and views, and the recent history of the Republic of Turkey. To provide accurate information to Turkish youth about internal and external dangers and threats to the Republic of Turkey, Atatürk's Principles and Reforms, and Atatürk's thoughts and views. To unite Turkish youth in an indivisible unity with their country, nation, and state, in line with Atatürk's Principles and Reforms and Atatürk's thoughts and views, based on national goals and ideals. To educate and empower Turkish youth in accordance with Atatürk's thoughts, views, and principles.
