Course Contents
Introduction to statistics, Basic principle of statistics, Collection of data, Type of data and summarizing, Descriptive statistics, Relationship between two variables (correlation analysis and regression analysis), Statistical distributions (binomial,poisson normal), Sampling distributions, t-distribution, Hypothesis testing (Z-test, t-test), Chi-square distribution and chi-square tests, Analysis of variance, Multiple comparison tests, Computer applications with statistical package programs.

2Type of data (continuous and discrete) and summarizing
3Descriptive statistics (measures of central tendency, measures of dispersion)
4Relationship between two variables, Correlation analysis (correlation coefficient)
5Regression analysis (regression coefficients, regression equation, regression line, determination coefficient)
6Binomial distribution (calculation of the probabilities of events properties of the binomial distribution, parameters of the binomial distribution, shape of the binomial distribution), Poisson distribution (calculation of the probabilities of events, properties of the Poisson distribution, parameters of the Poisson distribution, shape of the Poisson distribution)
7Normal distribution (properties of normal distribution, calculation of the probabilities, standard normal distribution)
8Midterm exam
9Sampling distributions (sampling distribution of means, sampling distribution of differences between two means, sampling distribution of proportions, sampling distribution of differences between two proportions, sampling distribution of correlation coefficient)
10Hypothesis testing (hypotheses, test statistics, Type I and Type II errors, one- and two tailed tests)
11Z-test (hypothesis testing: a single population mean, the difference between two population means, a single population proportion, correlation coefficient)
