Objectives of the Course
According to the purposes of the National Core Education Program, all students are able to examine neurosurgical examination methods and simple interpretation methods, how to approach the patient with head and spinal trauma, common neurosurgical diseases (disc hernias, intracranial hemorrhages, congenital anomalies, intracranial or spinal tumors, peripheral nerve diseases and neurosurgical emergency approaches), giving the theoretical information including the diagnosis and treatment and following the practical approaches.

Learning Outcomes
1At the end of the internship program, all students know the neurological examination examinations.
2To be able to evaluate neurosurgical emergencies.
3To be able to recognize peripheral nerve diseases.
4They should be able to have information about neurosurgical diseases, especially disc hernias, and be able to make urgent and elective evaluation of all these diseases.

At the end of the internship, it is aimed that the students obtain basic knowledge and skills within the scope of the subjects in the courses.
Course Contents
Theoretical and practical lessons are given to students about the neurosurgery examination methods and methods that they should have in their professional life. General information about common neurosurgical diseases and treatment methods are given in theoretical lessons. Radiological examinations related to neurosurgery and simple interpretation information are given. Information is given about patient assessment, examination and treatment methods in applied courses, outpatient clinic, bedside, emergency service and operating room. During the internship, they attend the seminar and article hours held in the clinic as observers. In addition, trainees are provided with responsible lecturers to prepare seminars in appropriate numbers (2 and / or 3 according to the number of students) and on subjects that they are likely to encounter in daily practice. Course topics are as follows. Introduction to Neurosurgery, Patient Evaluation, Lumbar Disc Herniation, Thoracic Disc Herniation, Cervical Disc Herniation Neuroradiology, Head Traumas, Spinal Traumas Legal Conditions in Neurosurgery, Lumbar Spinal Stenosis Spondylolisthesis, Pediatric Neurosurgery, Peripheral Nerve Injuries, Intracranial Hemorrhages, Subarachnoid Hemorrhages, Supratentorial Tumors, Infratentorial Tumors, Spinal Tumors
