to give information on agricultural struggle policies, application and control methods, biological and chemical control methods used against plant pathogens and weeds.

Course Contents

Legislative, cultural, physical, mechanical, biological and chemical control methods used against plant pathogens, integrated disease management, early warning of plant diseases, classification of fungicides, formulation types, modes of action of fungicides, application procedures, effects of fungicides on human health and environment. Chemical weed control, calibration, classification of herbicides, mechanism of action, physiology, and chemicals use strategies.

9	Factors causing plant diseases. Control methods used against plant pathogens. Legislative methods; quarantine, certification and regulations
10	Cultural methods; preventing and eradicating the pathogen inoculum, preventing infection
11	Resistance in plants; active and passive resistance, morphological, functional and protoplasmic resistance
12	Fungicide application methods, preparation of fungicide mixtures, calibration
13	Physical control; use of low and high temperatures and irradiation
14	What should be done during and after fungicide applications. Stages of a new fungicide active ingredient during registration. Modes of action of fungicides. Protectant fungicides, advantages and disadvantages
15	Systemic fungicides, advantages and disadvantages, advantages and disadvantages of chemical control, early warning of plant diseases. Integrated disease management
